| The National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence - Orange County will be the leader and most highly visible central source of information in our region for education, prevention, intervention, and referral to programs of treatment for alcoholism and other drug and/or chemical dependency. |
|
| To achieve its mission, NCADD-OC: |
- Provides leadership in formulation of public policy issues;
- Gathers and disseminates valid educational information about abuse of alcohol and other drugs, alcoholism, other drug addiction, and related problems;
- Recruits and organizes a county-wide constituency in support of these efforts; and
- Creates broad-based approaches to marketing, brokering, and distributing innovative programs and services based on the latest research and information.

| NCADD-OC carries out its mission by direct actions of the Council's Board of Directors and staff. NCADD-OC works cooperatively with a wide variety of groups and individuals to address concerns about alcoholism, and other drug addictions/chemical dependencies and related problems. |

| The National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence - Orange County (NCADD-OC) is a part of a national agency founded to combat the disease of alcoholism. Its major goals are to |
- Reduce the stigma of alcoholism through public education designed to increase awareness and understanding of alcoholism as a treatable disease and a major health problem;
- Support the rehabilitation of chemically dependent persons by providing information and possible referral;
- Promote programs and research for the prevention, early identification, and treatment of chemical dependency.
